Before I delve in to today’s Tips or Trends Tuesday, I want to send my love and condolences to the loved ones of Antoine Ashley aka “Sahara Davenport.” I am a long time super fan of drag and reading the reports of his death last night just broke my heart. An amazingly talented dancer and fiercely gorgeous queen has left us. Such a bright light for the community has gone out, but will not be forgotten. To Antoine’s husband, Karl Westerberg aka “Manila Luzon,” I send my deepest sympathies and love. Long live the queen!
With that off my chest, let’s get to Tips or Trends Tuesday. Today’s feature is all about the wedding shops that are popping up in department stores like Nordstrom and stores like Anthropologie’s BHLDN (Beholden). It seems like they are popping up all over the place and boy do they have some treasures you won’t find in your big box bridal shops. Some are brand spankin’ new and others have been around for a time, but have gotten revamps. My personal fave is BHLDN as I am a vintage style diehard. Here are several examples of what you’ll find at these trending shops within a shop: Shopbop, Nordstrom, BHLDN, J Crew, Macy’s, Lord and Taylor, Bloomingdales, Dillards, Neiman Marcus, and JC Penney.
