Today’s trend comes from Bride Tide’s 2013 trend list…lavish florals. From breathtaking floral headpieces to swoonworthy tablescapes, this trend can be summed up in two words, “eye candy.” So, today I bring you enough floral eye candy to make your eyes glaze over in a stupor of georgeousness (yes, I just went the made up word route). I know you are going to find a great deal of inspiration in these luxe floral creations. Enjoy and by all means…indulge yourself!
What a delight to find that I am on Bride Tide’s Top 100 Wedding Blogs list again! Thanks so much to all of you for nominations and support!
This week’s posts ran the gamut from centerpieces to Japanese inspiration. Here are a few treasuries to go with this week’s posts and get you started on bits and bobs for your own special day!
If you are a couple on a budget, nature has so graciously supplied you with free or nearly free centerpiece ideas. Sticks, branches, and stones when used en masse can make a big decorative impact without killing your budget. You can go rustic with little embellishment, add votives for a bit of glitz, or add flowers (fresh, artificial, paper, etc.) for a touch of romance. Mix tall branch arrangements with low stone arrangements for a bit of variety or for a more uniform look, keep your table decor the same.
One of my favorite trends involves decorating the stone with crocheted mini doilies as shown below. Scattered in the middle or down the center of a table with white votives they will be gorgeous and can even double as a favor.
Here are some ideas to inspire your own sticks and stones arrangements. Take care all and have a great Monday!
Welcome back! Here is post 2 of 4 full of gorgeous decor sure to add that extra special detail to your special day.
I began the Etsy Virtual Bridal Show last year to support individual artisans and vendors and to provide couples with alternatives to the mass produced wedding finds out there is traditional stores. The bridal world is evolving and growing away from the expected and moving toward individual craftsmanship and DIY touches. What’s great about Etsy is that you too can have a handmade look to your wedding without sacrificing your fingerprints to your hot glue gun.
In addition to helping individually owned shops, I wanted to bring awareness to my chosen charity: Wish Upon A Wedding. “Wish Upon a Wedding is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization that provides weddings and vow renewals to couples facing terminal illness or other serious life-altering circumstances, regardless of sexual orientation. Often, couples facing such situations do not have the energy, time, money, or resources needed to plan their wedding. Our organization takes care of all the details, offering couples a chance to relax and enjoy a very special day while surrounded by the love of their closest family and friends.” -www.wishuponawedding.org
Please note that donations are not required to view or for vendors participate in the show. This is my labor of love to bring awareness to Wish Upon A Wedding and my belief in supporting small businesses and individual artisans. If you feel led to help Wish Upon A Wedding accomplish their mission, please see Wish Upon A Wedding’s donation page.
