On today’s Theme Thursday, I present some French inspired rustic chic goodness. It was inspired by the Alexander Henry toile I recently purchased to recover my dining room chairs with:
French Country (also known as Pastoral) uses some lovely color combinations such as yellow and red, green an blue, red and olive, etc. as well as the pale yellow and sage green you see in the material swatch featured in the board below. I chose a muted palette as we are closing in on the Spring season. When going with a French country theme, think of chalky aged paint, preserved foods (such as the lemons on the wedding cake), slightly threadbare material, great ready to drink wine, rustic cheeses, mismatched furniture, and open fields of wheat and sunflowers.
I hope you enjoy today’s inspiration and have a great day!
