Friday’s Favorites: “I Do Garlands” and “All a Flutter Over Red and Blush”

It’s Friday and that means it’s time to do your best TGIF happy dance! ‘Twas a longish week for me as I am not only working to provide you with the normal fabulous content I present to you (I’m modest…yep), but I’m finishing up the final details of this blog’s heart and soul: The Etsy Virtual Bridal Show!

Yes, dear readers, it’s that time of year. The time where the Etsy Virtual Bridal Show Team takes over the blog for two weeks as we present our best handmade wedding creations and super fab vintage wedding finds to help you bring that one of a kind “authentically you wedding do!” This is our third year and I couldn’t be prouder of this little project. From just 100 shops that I personally invited, to last year’s team creation, and this year’s 440 shops, I know that you will hit the bridal mother load when it comes to finding everything from original couture gown creations to unique ever so trendy garlands to spruce up your event space. March 18th is the day to mark on your calendar for the beginning of the show!

So, this week’s favorites are a treasury of fabulous on trend garlands from many Etsy vendors as well as a treasury all a flutter with a blush and red butterfly theme. Enjoy the treasuries and most of all, remember that this wedding planning stuff, it supposed to be fun!

Wedding Wednesday: Red and Blush Garden Inspiration

Happy Wedding Wednesday! What have you done for your wedding today? Me, I’m working on flowers made from the pages of “Pride and Prejudice” and watercolor painting them in a gradient blue from navy to sky. I’m really happy with how they are turning out. I’m one of those “don’t reveal too much” kind of brides, so you’ll have to wait until after June 8th to see them. 🙂

Today, I have some red and blush inspiration based on one swoon worthy gown by Jillian from their 2013 Sterlizia Collection. Gowns with print are fast becoming a trend and I have a feeling that we will see more of them at Spring Bridal Market. I love that so many designers are embracing what many brides want: a gown beyond the typical and this gown is anything but ordinary!

Take a peek and let me know if you have any requests for next Wedding Wednesday.

Wedding Wednesday: Japanese Garden Inspiration

One of my absolute favorite places to go to in San Diego, is the Japanese Friendship Garden in Balboa Park. Once upon a time, there was a tea house in that spot that was built in 1914 for the 1915 Panama-California Exposition. It remained a functioning tea house until it was dismantled in 1941. In August 1990, the Japanese Friendship Garden was built to honor the memory of the original tea house. It currently holds exhibitions and you can get a bite to eat and sip some tea to cap off your visit to this gorgeous spot.

For some reason, this spot was on my mind today as I was talking to my kiddo about where I grew up. The topic of my many trips to Balboa Park came up and I mentioned the garden (which wasn’t there when I was a kid, but I did stop off at during a conference I was attending). It’s a lovely spot and the inspiration for today’s Wedding Wednesday.

Monday’s Finding: Tablescape Inspiration

Today I thought I would post some of my favorite tablescapes I have pinned as of late. I’ve got just about every style of wedding represented: glam, classic, goth, shabby chic, vintage, modern, etc. We are talking some major inspiration for your own reception decor. For those of us (like myself) on a tight budget, you can use these ideas and pick one or two details to focus on, find ways to DIY, substitute more expensive materials with budget friendly ones, or borrow the color scheme and still come off with a gorgeous tablescape your guests will love. So without further ado…EYE CANDY!

Monday’s Finding: Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice: Favorite Pins

Today is the 200th anniversary of the publication of my favorite book of all time, “Pride and Prejudice” by Jane Austen. So, I’ll be paying homage to the book all this week and I thought I would start of with some of my “Pride and Prejudice” pins from that addiction we call, Pinterest.
