Etsy Virtual Bridal Show: Day 18…Attendant Gifts (1 of 2) Final day!

Welcome to the final day of the Etsy Virtual Bridal Show. The Etsy Virtual Bridal Show Team has a great selection of attendant’s gifts headed your way! Don’t forget about our giveaways!

I began the Etsy Virtual Bridal Show last year to support individual artisans and vendors and to provide couples with alternatives to the mass produced wedding finds out there is traditional stores. The bridal world is evolving and growing away from the expected and moving toward individual craftsmanship and DIY touches. What’s great about Etsy is that you too can have a handmade look to your wedding without sacrificing your fingerprints to your hot glue gun.

In addition to helping individually owned shops, I wanted to bring awareness to my chosen charity: Wish Upon A Wedding. “Wish Upon a Wedding is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization that provides weddings and vow renewals to couples facing terminal illness or other serious life-altering circumstances, regardless of sexual orientation. Often, couples facing such situations do not have the energy, time, money, or resources needed to plan their wedding. Our organization takes care of all the details, offering couples a chance to relax and enjoy a very special day while surrounded by the love of their closest family and friends.” -www.wishuponawedding.org

Please note that donations are not required to view or for vendors participate in the show. This is my labor of love to bring awareness to Wish Upon A Wedding and my belief in supporting small businesses and individual artisans. If you feel led to help Wish Upon A Wedding accomplish their mission, please see Wish Upon A Wedding’s donation page.

While I am a volunteer with Wish Upon a Wedding, Belle Memorie is not an official representative of Wish Upon a Wedding. I have sought permission from each and every vendor featured to use their products and their photos. Please do not use these photos for personal gain or copy the designs presented. These products are the livelihood, passion, and intellectual property of each artist and to copy these items or to use them for person gain is both illegal and unethical.

Tips or Trends Tuesday: Tips: Attendant Gifts

What is the best way to say thank you to my attendants?

Well, I would say it depends upon the individual attendants. As one who has been in several weddings and received some of the same type of attendant gifts, I am a big believer in throwing out the whole cookie cutter personalized every body gets the same thing from the mall/catalog attendant gifts. I have three silver plated heart shaped boxes from you know where and know guys who have multiple flasks from the same you know where store (Remember?). To me, such gifts can come across as obligatory and a bit status quo.

My advice on this one? Consider personal gifts for each attendant rather than a cookie cutter run of the mill mall/catalog item that will likely gather dust. You can have the same amount budgeted for each attendant and still say thanks, but with an item that is either exclusively theirs or that is similar, but a little outside the box and practical. Here are some suggestions:

Monday’s Finding: Masculine Wedding Party Gifts

Welcome to Groom’s Week! All this week I will have posts that are related to the masculine gender whether you consider yourself a “groom” or a “bride.” I’ll be using the words “groom” and “groomsman” to refer to those who identify with the masculine gender for convenience’s sake. Please know that I will be featuring ALL types of grooms no matter their sexual orientation and identity. If you are a reader of this blog, you will know that I believe that anyone who loves and wishes to make a formal commitment of that love are celebrated here.

Today I am featuring groomsmen gifts. For those on a tighter budget, the first two sets are all for gifts under $50 and some even under $20. It’s not the amount you spend that’s important, but the gesture behind the gift that matters. In addition, I have two sets for those where your wedding party budget is not seriously limited. I have tried to avoid the typical flask gift. Trust me, if you’ve been a gromsman or a Man of Honor (I had a Man of Honor) in the past ten years, you probably have a flask or ten laying around a la “27 Dresses.” There is a bit of everything from humidors to a barber spa package from the Art of Shaving (the large pic with the barber chair in it) and my personal favorite is the silver plated yo yo.
