Friday’s Favorites: Gloves, Beasts, and Flora

Woot! It’s Friday! I’m looking forward to the weekend. It’s not supposed to snow, so Sunday I think Mr. Wondermous, the kiddo and I will be discovering a new trail to tackle. I love living in CO!

Today’s Friday’s Favorites feature: some great handmade and vintage bridal gloves; Beauty and the Beast wedding bits; and gorgeous flower girl dresses, baskets, and basket alternatives all from Etsy (as per usual). Enjoy the finds and remember to support individual shops and artisans, the only people they exploit are themselves. 😉

Wedding Wednesday: Request: Beauty and the Beast

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a good mini-holiday. Our was pretty low key, but I did keep up the tradition my late Mom and I had of watching “Gone With the Wind” on New Year’s Day. While she may not have been there physically, it was a nice night of watching our mutually favorite movie and happy memories.

Today’s Wedding Wednesday is a request from a reader based on Beauty and the Beast. I came up with three different version and I hope you like them, Becca!

Wedding Wednesday: Red and Aqua Dala Horse Inspiration

Happy Wedding Wednesday! I’m taking a break from all of our Denver snow to bring you a fun inspiration board based on Dala horses. The Dala horse (Swedish: Dalahäst) “has been around for many centuries, and probably was created by Swedish woodcutters in the province of Dalarna near Mora. During the long winters, these lonely men would spend their evenings away from their families, and passed their time by carving little toys for their children.” – . Over the years, it has come to be a symbol for the Swedish community in welcoming others to their towns and homes.

I adore these little horses as they are a nod to my maternal heritage and I like the message they convey: welcome and hospitality. What a great little idea to center one’s wedding around! So, if you like them as much as I do, here is a complementary color palette perfect for incorporation these little creations.
