When the pics of Chanel’s pre-Fall 2013 collection hit my inbox, my jaw dropped and I knew that I had to do a board inspired by Karl Lagerfeld’s opulent white and gold creations. Even at 79 years of age, Mr. Lagerfeld continues to inspire and create amazing works of art that fly in the face of tradition, yet echo a bit of timelessness.
So, how did I translate this amazing couture ensemble in to a bit of inspiration for you? Think chandeliers dripping with crystals, tons of candlelight, and floral garlands hanging from a ceiling of starlight. I hope you enjoy!

Number eight on Bride Tide’s 2013 Wedding Trends list, “A return to elegance.” The past few years have seen the rise of vintage wedding style, shabby chic details, and lots of DIY fetes. On the boards and especially on Pinterest, I’ve notice that couples are beginning to post lots of glam inspiration. Sara, of Burnett’s Boards says, “…2013 brides will draw inspiration from old world glamour with cinematic and literary influences like The Great Gatsby, Anna Karenina, Downton Abbey, and A Royal Affair. I expect to see decadent fabrics, corsets, ornate lace details, metallics, costume jewelry, and more formal receptions. This trend is already being reflected on red carpets and runways around the world and I can’t wait to see it find its way back into weddings again!” – Sara, Burnett’s Boards
I agree with Sara and I wanted to provide you (especially those newly engaged over the Winter holidays), a jump start on your own glam wedding ‘do. Enjoy the boards and I’d love to hear what your ideas are for your own weddings. Drop me a comment/request and I’ll be happy to put together some inspiration for you and post it on an upcoming Wedding Wednesday. 🙂

The popularity of colored bridal gowns is on the rise. Many design houses are producing, red, black, pink, blush, and blue designs that are gorgeous! With this rise in popularity, it can often take just one celebrity wedding for a new bridal trend to take off. Thanks to Amber Tamblyn (formerly of General Hospital and recently of House M.D.) golden gown she wore for her wedding to fellow actor, David Cross (most notably of Arrested Development), yellow bridal gowns are the latest trend in bridal fashion. I fully expect to see a lot more sunshine colored gowns at Spring Bridal Market next year.
For the time being, here are some gorgeous yellow bridal and designer gowns from butter to neon to tide you over until next Bridal Market or to take to your own designer (ahem…Etsy has several and I’ll be posting yellow gowns from some extremely talented Etsy designers on Friday). Aren’t they just a whole lot of beautiful?!
