On this week’s Dream Finds Friday, I present to you some of the best Eco-friendly bridal gowns created and re-created by some extremely talented Etsy artists. Not only will you help the earth a bit, you will have a beautifully made gown that supports an individual artisan.

I hope you enjoy the examples I have picked and when you are finished here, please follow this link to Pocketful Of Dreams to find out what other dream finds are out there awaiting you this week.

Theme Thursday: Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice

Today’s Theme Thursday is definitely worth the wait (if I do say so myself). One of my favorite movies as a teenager was Beetlejuice. I loved the aesthetic and totally identified with Winona Ryder’s character, Lydia.

As we approach Halloween, I was reminded of the Halloween where I was Beetlejuice and how much fun it was and wanted to share a bit of that fun with you. Here is a bit Beetlejuice inspiration for you. I hope you enjoy.

Theme Thursday: Creepy Vintage Inspired Halloween

I love Halloween. It’s my favorite holiday apart from Christmas. This old goth (sounds like a TV show) can’t get enough of the creepy and macabre that comes along with it. Today’s Theme Thursday is a bit of vintage inspired Halloween goodness. I have chosen to steer clear of the typical black and orange in order to show you how you can make for a great Halloween without all of the kitsch. If I had my druthers, this is what would be all over my place to celebrate the holiday. I found so much great stuff that I had to do two inspiration boards and a Etsy treasury. Enjoy!

Wedding Wednesday: Real Wedding: Tana Marie and Bear’s Handfasting

Today’s post is my first real wedding feature and I hope to bring you more as I solicit them. This one is very special to me as the couple is near and dear to my heart: my good friend and ex-husband, Bear, and his wonderful fiancee and one of my bridesmaids, Tana Marie. Yes, you read that right. I am blessed to have such a great relationship with them and we admit to being a very healthy and unconventional family and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

I was set to plan their wedding when they decided to have a handfasting to make spiritual commitments to one another. They planned most of it on their own until a major snafu presented itself the day before the event. Bear had driven by the park where the festivities were to take place and the grove of trees where they planned the ceremony was fenced off in bright orange and construction had begun in and around the grove. I got a frantic phone call to see what I could do and sprung in to action.

I set off for the park and found another location- sigh of relief. I knew that Tana Marie and Bear wanted things like decoration, but the budget just wasn’t there. So, I gathered up a bit of my milk glass collection and set to making centerpieces from silk flowers I had on hand. Then, I headed to the local party store and got the makings for a candy bar (something they wanted, but was a bit cost prohibited), which was a big hit at the reception. The reception was a potluck affair and there was so much great food and great fun. It just goes to show you that no matter what your budget is, you can have an intimate and memorable event.

Here are a few pics from the day and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. Thanks to Eric Murphy of Piscean Dreams Photography for permission to publish.

Left to right and top to bottom: The beautiful bride with her mother. Bridal party. Groom. Bride. Laying flowers at the monument. Me spreading petals. Groom’s party.

Left to right and top to bottom: Last minute centerpiece. Exchanging of rings. Giving of gifts to one another. Officiant and good friend of the family (my son’s adoptive grandma), Audrey. Fairy girl (instead of a flower girl). Handfasting cord. Blessing of the cord.

Left to right and top to bottom: Silliness with Jackie. Lovely moment. Cutting the cake. Kisses. Walking to the reception area. Me (red hair) hugging the bride and groom. Hugs from guests. Portrait.

This pic sums it all up: fun loving, silly, surrounded by family, metal, heathen, and all around good time.

Tips or Trends Tuesday: Trend: Rent the Runway

Are you a fashionista bride looking to make a bold statement with a designer wedding or getaway dress, but on a tight budget? What about an affordable way for your maids to enjoy a bridesmaid dress with amazing style and all under $200? Have a gala to attend and don’t want to wear the same old LBD (little black dress)? Rent the Runway can help.

Rent the Runway was brought to fruition by two friends, Jennifer Hyman and Jennifer Fleiss when Jennifer’s sister needed a killer dress to wear for a friend’s wedding, but her sister’s wallet was more of a budget killer than the type of dress she wanted. It was from a desire to wear a new designer frock to each occasion that the framework for Rent the Runway was built upon: Designer fashion without the huge financial commitment. Today’s Tips or Trends Tuesday looks at some of the best from Rent the Runway:

Board 1: Bridal gowns
Board 2: Getaway dresses
Board 3: Bridesmaids dresses
Board 4: Special occasion dresses
Board 5: Jewelry
Board 6: Something blue
