Today’s Theme Thursday isn’t necessarily a theme, but more of a request from a couple wanting to find a unique and non-birthday party like use for balloons in their wedding. Now, I am of the opinion that balloons are not for weddings and should be reserved for occasions like birthday parties and proms. I grew up in the 80s where balloons at weddings were fairly popular and were often gargantuan multi-colored arches or sometimes tacky displays over the head table. Let me give you a few examples:
Lately, balloons have been making their way back in to popularity at weddings, but in a more subtle approach. Some are using them as props for engagement sessions or as props for a portrait of the bride and groom or the wedding party.
I also would like to point out that an outdoor balloon release should never be an option when incorporating balloons in to your wedding or any other event you might host. The balloons are dangerous for wildlife as they often mistake them for food or get caught up in the ribbons and ties left on the balloon.
