Theme Thursday: Mod Quadrophenia Inspired Party

Mod is a subculture that evolved in London in the late 1950s. Key elements of mod culture are: fashion, scooters (particularly the Vespa), music (Ska, British Beat), and for some drug induced all night dancing. Quadrophenia (see poster below) is a movie based around The Who’s rock opera album of the same name. The movie features the struggle of a young Mod not only with his parents, but with his childhood friend turned rival. What I love about the movie is that it is a time capsule of Mod fashion and aesthetic, not to mention an appearance by Sting.
